KEY STAGE 1 and 2, Years 1 to 6

Literacy and Numeracy is taught daily. Children are encouraged to read from a variety of texts by different authors. There are opportunitites to gain bronze, silver and gold reading awards in Years 3 to 6.

Numeracy covers the areas of number, shape and space and data handling. Children are encouraged to develop mental skills using a variety of strategies and the four number operations.

Other areas taught are ICT, Science, History, Geography, Religious Education, French, Music, PE, Art, Design and Technology and Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE). Years 1 to 4 particpate in Ballet and Tap Dancing. Specialist subject teachers are introduced in some areas in the key stages. This increases as they reach the end of Key Stage 2.
