Welcome to St Dominic's School
St Dominic’s School in Brewood today announced that from September 1st 2010 it will be known as St Dominic’s High School for Girls.
The former Foundation and Key Stage 1 department will be known as the Pre-Preparatory department and the Junior Key Stage 2 department will be known as the Preparatory department. The present Preparatory class will be known as ‘Transition’. The name change reflects the changes in the modern, Independent education system. Over the last 10 years St Dominic’s has achieved an outstanding academic track record being placed top of the league tables for GCSE results for nearly a decade.
Our School is also the leading independent girls’ school in Staffordshire for girls aged from rising 3 to 18 and boys from rising 3 to 7. The school has been educating girls since 1920 and has continued to develop and improve over the years in order to deliver a superior education to young ladies from across three counties.
At St Dominic’s we provide a broad and balanced curriculum to enhance and enrich each and every pupil, inspiring them through a wide range of academic and extra curricular activities.
Our aim is to allow children to grow and develop into confident, well rounded individuals who are equipped for life and the challenges it holds for them. We believe that each child is unique and they are treated as individuals. Specific learning targets are developed, helping to build their confidence in warm and caring surroundings.
Our success is reflected by the excellent record of results achieved at ‘A’ level, GCSE and other exams in areas such as music, drama and IT. Our 2008-09 classes achieved 100% pass rate at GCSE, with 5 or more passes from A*-C and our Sixth form gained a 98.4% pass rate. All of our ‘A’ level students who applied to University were offered places. To find out more about our school either navigate your way to the relevant page or call us on 01902 850248.
