St Dominic’s School in Brewood received a visit from their local MP, Sir Patrick Cormack, to help the school celebrate being accredited with the Investor in People Standard.
The standard, developed in 1990 to help organisations improve performance and realise objectives through the management and development of their people, is highly regarded across all organisations and sectors.
The schools assessment included interviewes with Governors, teaching staff, and the support team, and the Investor in People Report concluded ‘The school is well established and demonstrated a number of ‘good practice’ approaches to staff development, encouragement and retention, including a strong ‘all team’ approach to ensuring a high quality of service delivery to both staff and pupils’.
Headteacher Sandra White said “We are delighted that Sir Patrick could join us in celebrating this achievement and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all St Dominic’s employees for their contribution in achieving this standard and look forward to our continual improvement and development”.
Sir Patrick Cormack, MP for South Staffordshire and a Member of Parliament since 1970, enjoyed being given a tour of the schools Infant department by pupils Molly Loftus, aged 4 and Sally Griffiths, aged 3 before helping them raise the Investor in People flag.
