Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 & 2 pupils from St Dominic’s School, Brewood, celebrated Mothers Day with an Assembly for all Mums, Grandmas, Aunties and Godmothers.
Key stage 2 pupils sang ‘From the Heart’ and thanked Mums for their
wonderful cooking, lovely holidays and swimming lessons, before Year 1 sang ‘My Mums one in a million’ thanking all Mothers for their hard work tidying the house, shopping and making sure everywhere is always clean.
Head of Foundation Stage, Karen Grevett said,” We have made some truly beautiful cards and flower handbags all with lovely thank you messages. It gives the pupils a chance to understand what families do for each other and to always appreciate and say thank you to their family and loved ones.”
All classes then presented a Staffordshire Newsletter paper, which featured their special ‘I love my Mum’ messages along with a self-portrait of them themselves.
Karen Grevett concluded, “A huge thank you to everyone who came along today to watch the Assembly and participated in the raffle, we will be sending all the proceeds to St Stevens orphanage in Kenya for the children to buy bikes.”
